The Malatesta and the Da Montefeltro, these are the two great families protagonists of our Renaissance.\u00a0Enemies have always left us priceless treasures such as the Malatesta Temple, the Ducal Palace and the Malatesta Library.\u00a0Here is a journey to discover this magical historical period, made of hard battles but also of great beauty.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta<\/strong>, captain of fortune, great leader but above all patron of the city of Rimini<\/em>.\u00a0It\u2019s thanks to him that today we can admire what is considered the most important monument of the early Italian Renaissance<\/em>: The Malatesta Temple<\/strong>. Our visit will start right here, in the entrance you will find yourself admiring for a long time the magnificent chapel of the Madonna dell’acqua<\/strong> or the chapel of the planets with the bas-reliefs<\/em> of Agostino di Duccio<\/strong>, every corner of this Cathedral is a work of art: the statues of the elephants, the putti<\/em> that adorn the chapels, finally the splendid fresco by Piero della Francesca<\/strong> that consecrates Sigismondo to lord of Rimini. The route will continue in the streets of the center until you reach Castel Sismondo<\/strong>, the fortress residence of Sigismondo, designed by Brunelleschi<\/strong>, which is today in all its splendor thanks to the recovery of the square in front, stop for a photo! After visiting the medieval square<\/strong> we will stop for an aperitif at the theater Galli<\/strong>, jewel of the 19th century in Rimini.<\/p>\n

On the second day we will leave for the ancient Duchy of Urbino<\/strong>. Our guide will accompany us to discover the magnificent Palazzo Ducale<\/strong> with the splendid facade of the Torricini by Luciano Laurana, a facade built right after the defeat of Sigismondo in the battle of Cesano. Here a typical lunch awaits us with local DOP products such as crescia sfogliata<\/em> and caciotta<\/em> d’Urbino. The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to the discovery of the splendid Urbino, we advise you to get lost in the streets of the historic center<\/strong>, such as Piazza della Repubblica, a meeting place for young University students, stop for a photo on the steps of San Giovanni or reach the Fortress of Albornoz and from here admire the splendid view.<\/p>\n

The Malatesta family is once again the protagonist of our day with the splendid the splendid Malatesta Library in Cesena<\/strong>. The only example of a perfectly preserved humanistic library is a magical place, the typical structure of a monastic-renaissance library contains important manuscripts. The same Lord of Cesena commissioned and purchased over 150 manuscripts so that it could be considered an important library.
