Rimini’s Parco del Mare district is the fruit of an intense urban regeneration project lasting over two decades. In fact, the local community has been involved in the planning and subsequent construction of several new developments that have revolutionised the face of the city, from the old town to the beach. So much so that we’re pretty sure the city will be almost unrecognisable if you’ve not visited for some time. One of the most important projects in recent times has involved the construction of the Parco del Mare district.
A feat of sustainable urban planning and a Guinness World Record holder due to its length, the Parco del Mare district prides itself on making Rimini one of the greenest, most relaxed cities in Italy.

In addition to being one of the longest park districts in Italy (once complete, it will span the entire coast of Rimini from Torre Pedrera to Miramare), the Parco del Mare is also an urban sustainability project that seeks to improve quality of life by providing kilometres of green space and dozens of sport and relaxation facilities alongside the calm, blue Adriatic.
Running along the city’s coastline from north to south, the Parco del Mare district also provides residents with a new transport network by foot, electric scooter or bike, allowing people to travel the entire length of the city surrounded by native plants, greenery and flower beds in absolute safety and tranquillity. So,whether you’re commuting for work or exploring for pleasure, getting around Rimini feels like going on a pleasant, picturesque holiday stroll.
