The Fulgor, the cinema of Federico Fellini’s dreams. An iconic and inspirational location in the heart of the old town that has been given new life by the narrative of the legendary director’s travels. At a period when Federico’s youthful imagination was fervent and sensitive, it was here that he viewed his first movies. Here, he began to grasp the significance of the seventh art, which would lead him to success.

Through the Dreams Square, the Fulgor is now an important component of the Fellini Museum, providing an ideal and physical relationship with Sismondo Castle.

The Fulgor cinema is a part of Fellini’s cultural legacy: the foyer and the two screening rooms “Giulietta” and “Federico” on the ground floor recall the Hollywood ambiance of the 1930s, which the Maestro adored.

The union of Fellini and Rimini is commemorated in one of the iconic  monuments, which have tracked his personal and creative journey. The city is present in the youthful caricatures of famous actors made on commission and exhibited as an advertising attraction by the manager of the Fulgor cinema. Rimini is featured in Amarcord, I Vitelloni, The Voice of the Moon, 8 1⁄2 and many more. Not just in Marcus Aurelius’s drawings, but also in themes left on paper, pictures and interviews.

Meanwhile, the Fulgor has stayed true to its mission: it is still a cinema, where the audience becomes a protagonist, in a life that is intertwined with that of the cinema. And, as is often the case, history repeats itself…
