It is well known: when the sun begins to set, Rimini lights up with new life. And you have plenty of choice. By the sea, in the centre, or in the hills, nightlife shines a new light on the city and those who live it. At sunset, for example, the people of Rimini often meet up at the new Darsena di San Giuliano Mare, for an aperitif in one of the many bars or chiringuiti on the beach, where for a strange optical effect the sun almost seems to set over the sea. Or in the hills, perhaps after a bicycle ride to immerse themselves in a quieter atmosphere in front of breathtaking views of the sea, for an evening in a wine cellar or for dinner in some ancient hinterland locality.
However, it is perhaps the picturesque historic centre that will most amaze you, where from dusk the commercial activities, shops, and offices of the day give way to a colourful and entertaining multitude of pubs, bars, and cafés with their expanse of tables and terraces on which a lively and incessant movida stays and passes until late at night, perhaps waiting to dine in one of the many cosy and exquisite restaurants or to hit the discotheque. However, one suggestion: nightlife in Rimini is not only the colourful images of a movida chased from one club to another, but also the frames of a film to be previewed or seen again as a great classic in the festivals that enliven the theatres of Fellini’s legendary Fulgor cinema every season.
